Sollatek UK was founded in 1983 to exploit the patented design for an Automatic Voltage Switcher or AVS. Sollatek (UK) Ltd has since become one of the leading makers of specialist products to protect electrical and electronic equipment. Sollatek Kenya was started in 1985 and is now the leading branch within the group. Internationally Sollatek now has offices in 14 countries and an active distribution network in 24 more. Sollatek has grown rapidly to become a truly global power management and solar products company. The AVS was the first in what has become a complete family of products designed to deal effectively with electrical disturbances, such as low and high voltage, spikes, surges and backsurges that are increasingly common in the mains electricity supply that can damage or even destroy your valuable electrical equipment.
Fuelled by the explosive growth in the use of electronic controls within most electrically powered equipment, usually with a sensitive micro circuit at its heart, a thriving market has developed for Sollatek products as users discover how vulnerable their equipment is to unreliable or poor quality electricity supply. As a result Sollatek has become a household name, particularly in the developing world, where electrical utility suppliers still strive to provide a stable and continuous source of power.
Today the Sollatek voltage protection product range includes full lines of guards, voltage switchers, stabilisers, regulators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Whether your need is to control the quality or continuity of electrical supply, Sollatek has the solution.
All research & development of Sollatek products is done at its 15,000 square feet facility in Slough, England, while manufacturing is done in China & Egypt where they are shipped to over 190 countries worldwide.
Sollatek aims to become the leading supplier in its chosen markets and acknowledges that only through the highest level of commitment to providing the best quality and the best price can this goal be achieved and maintained. Therefore to ensure that all products are manufactured to the highest standards stage by stage inspection and assessment is carried out during manufacture culminating in final and full functionality testing to IEC standards.
Each year a substantial proportion of revenue is invested in product research and development programs, which a highly qualified and experienced team of engineers works to enhance and improve existing products, as well as to pursue innovative new ideas.

In 1996, having become a major force in power control products, Sollatek Kenya provided field experience together with a number of ideas which turned Sollatek UK towards the field of renewable energy which resulted in new solar power products and systems. Since its establishment the Sollatek Solar Products Division has become a major force in both the supply of complete solar systems and ancillary equipment. Called Sollatek Solar, it has extensive expertise in designing and producing solar systems, many thousands of which have been installed around the world, many for large developments supported and financed by the World Bank.
Sollatek partners with Uni-solar for 64Watt (12Volt) and 124Watt (24Volt) triple junction thin film solar panels and has a new venture with Shurjo Energy starting in mid 2007 for 6/9/25/37/60 & 80Watt panels using the latest CIGS technology.
