ASK SHOW 2011-MOMBASA

Introduction
This year Mombasa ASK show started on 31st of August, in a mood anticipated as being low. The general mood being that the standard of living has sky rocketed beyond any imagination as has seen the shilling losing ground to most of the international currencies. Inflation is at the peak making it very difficult for the common buyer to purchase as one would wish.
Against this background, Sollatek had its stand as usual and quite noticeable at the ASK show grounds. This was envisaged by the variety of products on the display ranging from solar products to power controls.

D.LIGHT PRODUCTS
Today I would not hesitate to say that these products made a significant impact on our general sales at the show ground. In fact by volume these products, especially the Nova, registered the highest sales compared to all timers such as the fridge guard and its brother, the hivolt guard, thanks to the aggressive sales and marketing strategies in place.

POWER CONTROL PRODUCTS
The liking and trust in Sollatek power control products still remains in the market. This was evident in the questions and demand exhibited by many clients who visited our stand. The sales accrued from these products also shows that people need and use these products at many times and on many applications. Their reference being just, SOLLATEK.

OBSERVATION

The general mood of the people, (read Kenyan people,) is to go green. Most people seem to have realized the need to and advantages of using solar products than the normal trend of using fuel in lighting purposes. This could also have been dictated by high fuel prices, hence the urge to avoid it as much as possible and hence goes the saying, “the war of locusts is actually the happiness of the raven”.

CONCLUSION

The Mombasa ASK show 2011 was successful and different in a way. The range of products was wide. The power control section was well represented as well as the solar section. The introduction of solar water heating system and the D. light range of products made all the difference. Inquiries resulting from these products, the need to know and the power to purchase were well observed and indicated in this period. Questions on the different varieties and durability of these products were raised, but thanks to the well informed and hard working Sollatek staff. Everyone left our stand satisfied and wiser.
